Delhi Public school is a big banner in the field of Education globally. The
school has churned out great academicians businessmen and scholars. It was
the vision of Pro Vice Chairperson Ms. Dhara Jaipuria and Mr. Ravi
Jaipuria that education must be a privilege for providing quality
education to under privileged children. The result of this vision took the
form of "Shiksha Kendra" in 2005.
Shiksha Kendra commenced its journey with just 26 students from the rural
areas in the vicinity of DPS. In a span of nine years the number now stands
at 2500 students. At present the school runs with classes from Grade I to
Grade XII. A strong foundation for a bright future is provided at the
grass-root level.
The aim of the School is to provide the students a sound intellectual,
physical and moral education so that they turn out to be good and upright
citizens of our motherland. Holistic education is the need of the hour and
Shiksha Kendra is dedicated in providing every facility for the students to
move ahead in life.
Computers are an important part of the curriculum to keep them abreast with
the times. Audio Visuals and Multi Media further enhance their learning
skills. Various activities like Dancing, Art & Craft, Debates and
Dramatics are encouraged. Important days and festivals are celebrated in
Shiksha Kendra with great enthusiasm.
Students from DPS provide their extended services to mentor and teach the
students of Shiksha Kendra. The students participate in various Olympiads
and bring laurels to the school. Recently the students cleared the exam in
National Olympiad Foundation. Apart from regular studies various activities
are organized for the students of Shiksha Kendra like Art and Craf, Mehandi
& Rangoli design, Art & craft, Dance & music etc.
The students are also made aware of the importance of following traffic
rules, maintaining cleanliness, upkeep of personal hygiene and sanitation
through various programs.
